The
policy of the Diocese of Allentown requires all students enrolled in a Catholic
high school, no matter what their religious affiliation, to participate in a
retreat/spiritual exercise once each academic year. Each class will have several opportunities to
fulfill the retreat requirement.
The
Freshman retreat for the 2008-2009 school year will be
the Diocese of Allentown mandated retreat program “Called To Protect.”
The retreat is designed to help the students realize that their bodies
are sacred and they need to protect themselves from those who may not have the
best intentions in mind. The retreat
will be offered during the school day, on November 13 and two more dates that
will be determined. Each day a third of
the class will attend the retreat while the students attend their regular
classes. The retreat will be held at
Saint Francis Friary in
Sophomore Retreat
The
Sophomore Retreat for the 2008-2009 school year will
be the Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the
Immaculate Conception in Washington D. C.
The pilgrimage is on

Juniors will have several retreat to choose from
during the course of the school year.

Three Lenten Services at a local Church.
Students
will attend all three services at their church or church of their choice. Such
as Stations of the Cross, Lenten Penance Service, Parish Lenten Talks, Easter Triduum Services. Sunday Mass DOES NOT COUNT.
After each service the student will be required to obtain a signature
from a priest in the parish. The priest
of the parish will be notified that this is part of their retreat
requirement. Forms are available on the
school web page and will be collected one week after Easter. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain
the proper form. Any questions see Fr. Bob.
Evening of Reflections
Several Traditional Evening of Reflections will be offered over the course of the school year.
The

Day at the Seminary
A trip to Saint Charles Seminary. The day will
consist in a tour of the seminary, mass and lunch. Depart

Religious Retreat. The retreat MUST BE APPROVED by the Director of

Two Kairos Retreats will
be conducted during the 2008-2009 school year.
A limited number of participants will be accepted so it is highly
recommended that those who wish to attend one of the Kairos retreats should
return their registration forms as soon as possible. All forms can be obtained off the school

Favors for family members, friends, or individual
projects do not meet the requirements for service projects. All community service hours must be fulfilled
during non-school hours. If there is any
question or doubt about a project, please have the student,
contact the Director of Spiritual Activities at the school.
