BASEBALL

The baseball program under the direction of Coach Michael Bedics (Class of 1993) competes in the competitive Colonial League and at the Class AA level.  The 2007 Crusaders won the Colonial League Championship for the 1st time in school history.  The Crusaders have qualified for the District XI tournament for the 6th consecutive year during the 2008 season.

Coach Chris Parsell (pitching coach), Coach Jeff Fisher (catching and conditioning coach), Coach Villanti (infield coach) complete the staff of experienced coaches.  Coach Bedics was named The Colonial League and Express-Times Coach of the Year in 2007.

The Crusaders play their home games on the campus of Notre Dame High School at Lou Cecala Field.  Lou Cecala Field is one of the finest fields in the Colonial League.  During this past season Lou Cecala Field has undergone improvements with a brand new infield, new sets of home and away bleachers, a PA system, and a new backstop.   The baseball complex has an outdoor batting cage, two sets of bullpen mounds and hitting and bunting stations available.  The program also has an indoor facility available for its use.  The indoor facility has a full size batting cage, indoor pitching mounds, and an area used for indoor practice. The baseball team also has access to a newly renovated weight room.  The Notre Dame baseball program takes great pride in their facilities and is always looking to improve the present facilities.

The 2008 Crusaders traveled to Florida to participate in Disney’s Wide World of Sports Spring Training.  The team practiced and scrimmaged at the Wide World of Sports Complex.  This is the same facility used by the Atlanta Braves.  For more information about the baseball program, please contact Coach Bedics (610-217-1065).  You may also email Coach Bedics at notredamebaseball@verizon.net.
